Gear pump is the name given to rotary pumps; are pumps that transport fluid using rotating gears. The gear pump pushes the fluid medium, creates vacuum pressure, and completes its function with the use of two or more gears. Gear pumps have the ability to create very high pressure. Hydraulic fluid is one of the most common pump types in power applications. Gear pumps are also widely used in chemical installations for pumping high viscosity liquids. Gear pumps pump a fixed amount of liquid for each cycle. It provides a smooth, impact-free flow proportional to the rotation speed of the gears. They are suitable for pumping high viscosity liquids such as plastics, oils, paints, adhesives or soaps.
